Couture sets sail with Crystal Cruises and Designer Lauren Elaine
Lauren Elaine presents the first-ever high fashion runway show at sea

Amidst the backdrop of the Mediterranean landscape, the Lauren Elaine S/S 2010 Black Label Collection will come to life on two Crystal voyages this June and September- marking the premiere couture runway presentation at sea. Guests traveling on the two fashion and styled themed cruises will get to experience first-hand the inspiration behind the collection- straight off the runway from Los Angeles Fashion Week and direct to the stage on arguably the finest cruise ship in the world- Crystal's "Serenity."

With the unmistakable Mediterranean and European influences reflected in the S/S 2010 Black Label Collection, Designer Lauren Elaine brings on board a level of taste and luxury directly mirroring Crystal's own impeccable standards. Selected by Crystal Cruises as the designer of choice, Lauren Elaine will present a 25 look show towards the end of each trip, preceded by unique 'Style Lounge' sessions where guests can meet, interact, and get style advice directly from the designer and a handful of industry experts who will be on board the two themed voyages. Guests will not only be able to experience fashion first-hand, but they will be able to do so in the environment that the designer, envisioned. "While creating this collection, I was directly influenced by both the 'Sirens' in Greek Mythology, as well as the silver screen 'Sirens' of the 40s and 50s," says Elaine. "Not only will we be sailing the Mediterranean during the show, but guests will have just visited Monte Carlo and Rome- and they'll be able to see the influences of style icons such as Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn in the collection. It's definitely a dream come true as a designer." In addition to a perfect setting, guests will also enjoy fashion-themed films selected by both Lauren Elaine, and other industry experts in efforts to build to the climatic final runway presentation. "I hope guests are as excited as myself! Can you imagine watching 'Roman Holiday' or 'To Catch a Thief' the evening before you walk the streets of Monte Carlo or Rome? I think it's wonderful how we are able to combine so many aspects of fashion and style into a 12-day cruise, and in such a magical setting."

Since her official debut in 2009, Lauren Elaine has secured much popularity and a celebrity following for her mission to recreate the princess archetype for the modern woman. The S/S 2010 Black Label Collection, boldly reflecting this design aesthetic, debuted at LA Fashion Week in October 2009 at the famed Los Angeles Theatre on Broadway. For the on-board presentation, Elaine plans to add 2-4 exclusive "Crystal" pieces to the collection, which will only be available to guests traveling on the two themed voyages.

Guests on Crystal's two 2010 Fashion & Style Experiences of Discovery trips will travel on the Crystal Serenity- consistently rated as the finest cruise ship in the world by both Conde Naste and Traveler publications. The first 12-day voyage- "Culture & Couture"- departs on June 6th from Barcelona to Athens, and the second 10-day trip- "Fashion Capitals" - departs on September 29th with an itinerary from Venice to Monte Carlo.
