Debenhams Provides World Cup Solace
Debenhams has set up its own World Cup Creches for footie mad men while the women shop
LONDON, ENGLAND, June 17, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Debenhams has organised its own World Cup Creches in selected stores around the UK so that women can shop in peace and the men can watch their beloved team without being moaned at.
This means that customers at Debenhams can watch the England games on screens in dedicated areas which are being called 'creches'. The stores that are open during the games will show England vs. Algeria on the 18th of June and England vs. Slovenia on the 23rd of June. This can be up to 8pm in the evening for late night shoppers.
The creche areas have also been equipped with "goodies" to keep the boys amused and entertained while their wives and girlfriends spend their time shopping. Some of these items will include novelty patriotic underwear and baby supporter kits.
Michelle Dowdall, Debenhams spokesperson commented: "While most men will be hoping for a polished performance on the pitch, many women will be seeking their own polished performance ...in the nail bar."
Of course, the World Cup Creches aren't creating a divide between men and women. Women are just as welcome to watch the football and show their football interest and enthusiasm whilst their friends and partners shop. It is merely a place for anyone who is out shopping, or even just in the area, to be able to watch the football in a peaceful environment with like minded souls about them.
This service is sure to bring fever pitch a plenty through to Debenhams during the summer with World Cup gifts, games and fashion on sale. Other World Cup products are available in Debenhams stores priced from GBP3.
